Follow these steps to calibrate your Easy Quattro machine by adjusting the gauge wings, cutting depth, and milling cutter-tracer alignment to ensure precise key duplication.
Easy Quattro Manual
Adjusting the Gauge Wings
Important: Before performing this operation, turn OFF the machine and disconnect the power cable from the mains.
Procedure:
- Insert the all-purpose plate (J) into the jaws, ensuring the lower backstop is against the left side.
- Rotate the gauging rod (A) until the wings of gauge (C) fit into the upper stops (Y) of the all-purpose plate.
- If the wings do not fit:
- Loosen nut (G) that holds the wings.
- Slide the wings along the rod until they align properly.
- Secure the adjustment and ensure the gauge wings are properly positioned.
Checking and Adjusting the Cutting Depth
Important: Before performing this operation, turn OFF the machine and disconnect the power cable from the mains.
Procedure:
- Place the all-purpose plate (J) between the jaws.
- Move the carriage upwards using lever (A) until the bar touches the tracer point (Y).
- Manually move the milling cutter (B)—it should touch the edge of the all-purpose plate but not block it.
- If the milling cutter does not align correctly:
- Loosen the tracer stop nut (G).
- Adjust the tracer position using the knob (F) so the milling cutter reaches the correct position.
- Tighten nut (G) to lock the tracer in place.
- Verify the calibration by checking the cutting depth before proceeding with key cutting.
Checking and Adjusting the Milling Cutter - Tracer Point Spacing
Important: Before performing this operation, turn OFF the machine and disconnect the power cable from the mains.
Procedure:
- Place the all-purpose plate (J) in the jaws, ensuring the lower backstop is against the left side.
- Move the carriage towards the machine and adjust it until the milling cutter fits into the V-shaped groove of the plate.
- Ensure the tracer point also fits into the V-shaped groove of the all-purpose plate.
- If the alignment is incorrect:
- Loosen the two stop nuts (A) for the tracer’s horizontal movement.
- Adjust the tracer position manually using the adjusting screw (B) until it aligns with the V-groove.
- Tighten nut (A) to lock the tracer point in place.
- Repeat this calibration whenever the milling unit is changed to maintain cutting accuracy.
By following these calibration steps, your key cutting machine will operate with maximum precision, ensuring clean and accurate key duplications.
