Calibration for Versa Key Duplicating Machine

This guide explains how to calibrate the Versa Key Duplicating Machine, including jaw setup, tracer calibration, and tool replacement.

Jaw Setup Calibration

The jaw setup must be performed after installing a new jaw or replacing an existing one.

How to Access the Jaw Setup Screen:

  1. From the SETUP menu, select the JAW key.

Jaw Replacement Steps:

  1. Loosen the fixing nut "A" and remove the jaw from its seat.
  2. Insert the new jaw and secure it with the fixing nut.

Automatic Jaw Adjustment:

  1. Select the installed jaw (e.g., "C01") on the display.
  2. The jaw's actual dimensions will be displayed.
  3. Modify the X, Y, Z axes if needed.
  4. Press AUTOADJUST to start the automatic jaw calibration.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions for pin removal, tracer insertion, and tip stop.
  6. Press OK to start the adjustment.
  7. Once completed, save the data.

Tracer Calibration

Tracer setup is required after replacing a tracer point.

How to Access the Tracer Setup Screen:

  1. From the SETUP menu, select the TRACERS key.

Adjustment Procedure:

  1. Rotate the tracer tower toward the operator.
  2. Select the tracer to be calibrated from the display.
  3. Adjust X, Y, Z axes if necessary.
  4. Press AUTOADJUST to start the automatic tracer calibration.
  5. Ensure jaw "C01" is installed.
  6. Press OK to start the adjustment.

Tool Replacement in the Spindle

  1. Open the left-side panel of the machine.
  2. Press and turn counterclockwise the M handle to loosen the chuck spindle B.
  3. Remove the tool from its seat.
  4. Insert the new tool or tracer all the way in.
  5. Secure it by turning the handle clockwise.
